I asked local, working moms, "What's the one thing you wanted to hear most when you went back to work after maternity leave?" And many responded with, "We're so glad you're back" (or something like it). At the same time, after I also asked, "What's one thing you didn't want to hear but did?" Many shared the exact same response. The reason? To them, that phrase seemed fueled by a pile of work waiting for them at their desk that their coworker(s) couldn't wait to get their help with. Not exactly the warm, "Welcome Back" an already-spread-thin, working mama needs as she navigates the transition back to work. So, this card exists to clarify the sentiment.
